Our Story

Key to our strategy is the mitigation against climate change, a sustainable agriculture practices, pollination and use of Geo spatial technologies, for monitoring and observing the mutualistic interactions between plants, insects, rare birds and animals across our project geographical spread. And to effectively monitor the farmlands, the management & channelling of Rivers, Springs or Ocean for irrigation, animals grazing & increased bees farming with plans to plant new 750, 000-1million special trees.

Founded by visionary leaders in 2023, Ajumose Farmers Resources has evolved into a prominent force in the Nature Conservation Movement using Nature based solutions approach to Climate change mitigations. We prioritise transparency, set ambitious goals, and follow a strategic approach to drive meaningful change. Adapting to societal shifts, we welcome you to explore how you can contribute. Please, come & support our project!

Our Mission

Beliefs & Values

Committed to driving change and fostering inspiration, our Nature Conservation Movement continually expands its knowledge of current issues and launches campaigns advocating for positive outcomes. Delve into our core focus areas below.

Community Engagement

Through designated strategies, our methodology, involves Reduction of emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+) or through Afforestation, Reforestation and Re-vegetation (ARR) with Improved Forests management (IFM).  We are including in our Action plans, an appropriate project documentation for review and approval by Validation and Verification body (VVB). This is to enable Ajumose Farmers Cooperative some rewards as compensation through Voluntary Carbon market (VCM) for their contributions to Global Green House Gas Emissions reduction.

Nigeria rainforests are depleted over the years. Carbon measurement above ground is between 1.77- 77.43 Mg. C/ha.(Source: Earthblox dataset 2023 Edinburgh, Scotland).

Through Earthblox Edinburgh support, our due diligence on a Nature based solution (Nbs) to climate change, involves data collection on Nigeria landcover, deforestation, project boundaries, characteristics of the region and project site, and a measurement of the carbon density. We also conducted Statistical data on risks. Data on risks such as drought, flood, wind, fire, and extreme weather temperature. Including data on surrounding deforestation, around the project site which may become leakages to interventions and the annual population increase data. Nigeria population is increasing by 4-5million annually according to Earthblox data set. And population increase generates additional Green House Gas emissions through land use for economic growth. All of these are important to Nbs, our global biodiversity and the total carbon. Our Nature based Solution approach to Climate Change mitigation in collaboration with small scale farmers, the Ajumose Farmers Cooperatives in Nigeria rain forests will enable us generate broader environmental, social, and economic benefits, ranging from increased rich biodiversity, Forests management, job creation, poverty alleviation through increased food production in support of the local communities, and improved health benefits.

Collaborations

Through questionnaires sent out to Ajumose Farmers Cooperatives in Ile-Ife Osun State we have been able to identify geographical spread of water sources for irrigation, water conservations, and wetlands that we can improve or reorientate, as mangroves, marshes and seagrass or seaweeds. In addition, to our research through Earth Blox UK data set, we found out that wetlands often hold greatest amount of carbon stocks per unit area of an ecosystem. Wetlands are important carbon-sinks and can become major sources of emissions when damaged or converted.

Our conversations with Rothamsted Research UK is to enable us benefit from their Research experience on Net Zero and Resilient Farming through collaboration and training of our staff.

Campaigning

The indigenous communities and Small scale farmers own 70% of Nigeria Rain forests. By having the indigenous communities and the small-scale farmers in Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, Oyo, Ogun, & Lagos States rain forests at the centre of our interventions around environmental preservation and climate change in Nigeria, with new agriculture practices is to enable us enhanced public participation in Climate Change mitigation through Precision Farming & Carbon Sequestrations.

Our effort is in support of the global ambition towards achieving Net Zero carbon and the Sustainability of our global bio-eco system through Nigerian rural communities empowerment and participations.

Our support for them is to empower the people with SMART Farming Technologies and Material Resources so they can contribute their indigenous knowledge into global Climate Change mitigation Action.

Community Engagement

We held eight workshops with 300 Ajumose farmers, providing them more information on climate change issues and increased their awareness about Climate change mitigation. According to our questionnaire to them, for their Needs Assessment, they told us about their problems with crops pests & diseases and that large percentages of their crops often died out through half of the year.

Also because of lack of water during the dry season and the consequence of extreme weather condition due to Climate change. During the annual seasonal harvest, these often turn to a misery for Nigerian small scale farmers with food shortages.

We identified that Pollination decline due to deforestation and ecological impact of climate change and changes in land use is a concern in Nigeria Rain forest. The drastic disappearance of insects from our biomass is also a concern to science on pollination. Our Nature based solutions will help the communities to increase Pollination capacity and improve ecological environments for the habitats maintenance and for the sustenance of healthy relationships between animals, birds, insects and plants.
